How it is funded

Ad-supported

ReelDeal shows ads supplied by Google AdMob: a banner while you browse and an occasional full-screen ad between sessions.

  • Decline tracking and you get non-personalised ads
  • The app is fully functional either way
  • Ad privacy choices live in You > Privacy & ad settings
No account needed

Optional sign-in

An account is never required to use ReelDeal, and it does not cost anything when you want one.

  • Sync ratings and watchlist between devices
  • Friends and shared watch parties
  • A higher daily limit for Ask
  • Delete it and all its data from inside the app

Why there is no subscription

ReelDeal is meant to answer one question quickly on a weeknight. Charging a monthly fee for that is a poor trade, so the app is funded by advertising instead. There is no premium tier, and no feature is reserved for paying users, because there are no paying users.

What advertising means for you

Ads are served by Google AdMob. On first launch you will see Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline it, or never answer, your device's advertising identifier is not shared and you see non-personalised ads instead. Nothing else about the app changes.

In the EU, the UK, and Switzerland you will also see a consent form before any ad loads, where you can accept or refuse each purpose. You can reopen it at any time at You > Privacy & ad settings.

We do not give advertisers your email address, your ratings, or your watchlist. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.

Usage limits

Ask sends your question to a paid language model, so it carries a daily cap: 15 questions per day with an account, and 3 per day without one. The limit resets at midnight UTC. Everything else in the app is unlimited.

If that ever changes

If ReelDeal introduces a paid option in the future, existing functionality will not be moved behind it without notice in the app, and this page will be updated first.
